A Study on the Determination of Mechanic Harvest Properties of Some Sweet Cherry Varieties

Cherry is a hand-harvested fruit due to various difficulties and constraints. This condition results in the use of labor at high rate. Turkey's annual cherry production level 724 thousand tons. Various tools or machines that have been developed for harvest potential contribute greatly this area. The share required harvesting total requirement around 70%. In research, it was aimed collect necessary data mechanize by determining physico-mechanical properties fruit. As result present study, several physical, biological, mechanical four sweet variety (0900 Ziraat, Starks Gold, Merton Late, Lambert) were determined compared terms mass, net weight, tensile force, thickness, length, width, sphericity, surface area, volume fruit, also sphericity seed, force stalk, stalk weight. Tensile weight 0900 Ziraat found 2.579 N, 7.041 9.592 g, respectively. After evaluation obtained data, all varieties examined suitable harvesting. However, most as ‘0900 Ziraat’.
